Itinerary
Driving Distance - 171 Km. | Driving time –3 to 4 Hr. | Altitude of Phuentsholing: 293 m.
On arrival in Phuentsholing you shall be received by your guide with “Tashi khadar”. Then check in at the hotel.
In the evening, if time permits, walk around the Phuentsholing town, visit the Zangtopelri Lhakhang in the town Centre or simply relax in the Hotel. Overnight in a hotel.
Driving Distance - 150 Km. | Driving time – 5 Hr | Altitude of Thimphu - 2350 m.
After breakfast, process your permits (if not done on the previous day) and the drive to Thimphu. On the way visit the Kharbandi Goemba just as you leave Phuentsholing town and then drive further to Thimphu. The travel from Phuentsholing to Thimphu shall bring you across diverse flora and fauna, beautiful landscapes and other elements of nature such as waterfalls. You shall also see how the plains become small foothills and then the big himalayan slopes. On arrival in Thimphu, explore the Thimphu town. The only capital city in the world without traffic lights.

Driving Distance: 60 km, Driving Time: 1.5 Hr., Altitude of Paro: 2280 m
After breakfast, you would check out of the hotel to proceed to Paro. On the way stop at
- Tamchog Lhakhang, built by Thangthong Gyalpo in the 15th Century, Thangthong Gyalpo is also known as the iron bridge Builder. The walk, the suspension iron chain bridge, the feel of the soothing breeze and river could be a great experience. After arriving at Paro, you would be transferred to your Hotel for Check In. Post lunch, you would be taken around to visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, also known as Fortress of the heap of jewels, built during the time of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 Ta Dzong, an ancient watch tower overlooking Rinpung Dzong built in 1951 now converted into national museum. Evening is free for leisure activities such as Archery experience, National Dress wearing experience on direct payment basis and shopping around the Paro Town.Overnight at the Hotel in Paro.
After breakfast, start your day with a hike to
- Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's nest), the abode of gods and monks situated at an altitude of 3100m in the Upper Paro Valley, Bhutan. As per the legend, Guru Padmasambhana (Guru Rinpoche), the tantrum mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, came in the form of Dorje Drolo riding a flying tigress to subdue the demon that was obstructing the spread of Buddhism in the Himalayas.
After the completion of the hike, you would be served picnic lunch among the woods. Post lunch, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan built in the 7th century by the Tibetan Emperor Songtsen Gamp Dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Paro.
Driving Distance - 150 Km. | Driving time – 5 Hr | Altitude of Thimphu – 2280 m.
After breakfast, explore Paro Town for a while or do some sightseeings (if not completed the previous day), then drive to Phuentsholing. Stop at places for photography and sightseeing. Overnight in Hotel in Phuentsholing
After breakfast, check out from the hotel, depart for NJ or Bagdogra, Being dropped off for an onward journey.
